iNet Run Time Server

The iNet Platform enables enterprises to deploy sophisticated SharePoint WebParts and/or .NET e.Business scenarios that include transactional, info provisioning, real-time user interactions and workflow tasks in support of specific SAP - .NET Business process functions.

iNet Server provides truly enterprise class runtime services for such scenarios:

  • Unified Transaction Processing, SAP Object Integration and .NET Adapter Services
  • Multi Mode Connectivity - .NET, SOAP, COM+ , XML
  • Real-time, non messaging based
  • ACID Compliant distributed transaction support
  • Fully secure SAP security reflection
  • Parallel multithreaded performance
  • Simultaneous connectivity to multiple and distributed SAP systems

iNet Server uniquely exposes ALL SAP objects for .NET access:

  • SAP ABAP Application Objects
  • SAP Report Program Objects
  • SAP Query Objects
  • SAP Business Objects
  • SAP RFMs (Std or Custom)
  • SAP BAPI’s
  • SAP BW Objects

Multi-mode. Instant Plug-in .NET Service. Shunning traditional messaging-based service methodologies, its unique technology implements a new “brokerless” paradigm based on a centralized service and connection pooling, alleviating the need for complex and costly middleware infrastructures. It installs as a plug-in service to the Windows Server Operating Environment. iNet communicates with target SAP systems via standard SAP protocols for remote access.

Transactional Integrity. iNet Server is bi-directional supporting both information delivery and business transactions with assured transactional integrity (ACID) for distributed transactions and high availability features for Fail Over and Redundancy. The iNet Run Time Service is unique as a .NET connection service in that it supports fully ACID compliant transactions. Thus distributed business process transactions can be supported with 2-phase commit to assure the transactional integrity of distributed processes.

Fully reflected SAP security and access control. The SAP systems maintain responsibility for full access security. iNet makes sure the security and user access framework of host SAP systems are invoked and honored by connecting .NET platforms and users.

Scalable Performance. The iNet Server is multi-threaded for parallel processing, supporting both parallel transaction and parallel access to any number of SAP system for scalable performance, allowing for simultaneous access to multiple, even globally distributed, SAP R/3, CRM and BW systems.

Distributed Process Services. Composited business processes involving multiple target SAP systems can be easily created and supported at run time, all without having to create a complex set of point-to-point connections on multiple servers, as is required with other SAP integration platforms for .NET.

Maximize ROI in EXISTING SAP assets. The iNet Service works with ALL releases of SAP R/3, requires no modifications or changes to the R/3 system or programs, and does not mandate the need for SAP Net Weaver, XI or BW. Simply a Windows Server plug-in.

iNet Services Details

To support plug-n-play linkage to .NET platforms for specific optimization solutions, the iNet Services technology includes specialized subcomponents:

  • Object Integrators provide supporting meta data while they auto-expose specific SAP info, transaction, process and document objects as .NET ready
  • Packaged Adapters are out-of-the box for specific MS Platforms (SharePoint, SQLServer, Office, MOSS2007)
  • Run Time Services to support the business process services needed by applicable object integrators and adapter/provider functions and executing .NET business objects as they communicate to SAP systems. The service also supports the object design and creation services provided by the iNet Object Design Kit ( ODK)

Component Details

Object Integrators
Accessed SAP objects are delivered pre-processed and transformed .NET ready by the iNet Object Integrator technology. iNet Object integrators are packaged with the iNet run time service in support of Business Object Creation and the Run-time Services framework utilization of the called SAP objects.

The service exposition of SAP functions by iNet includes the ability to cause the called SAP functions and services to return all information objects as native, auto transformed, and smart-tagged xml. All without changing code in the SAP application functions.

For Microsoft .NET Servers, every SAP info object, data object, document and interface is auto transformed for programmer-less, semantic reconciliation by the calling .NET application or Microsoft .NET Server Platform.

Adapters

  • SQL Server 2000/2005. The iNet platform includes ready-to-run information object providers that perform the codeless provisioning of SAP information objects as .NET data objects, with full Meta data business context packaged with the object payloads. The functionality is extended to handle the auto creation of receiving or reference SQLServer tables with that Meta data, and loading of tables at runtime.
  • Sharepoint Portal Server. Runtime services for Information access and user interaction with SAP information Objects from the SPS Portal environment
  • MOSS2007. HTTPS runtime adapter connecting SAP Content Server to MOSS2007 and Windows document management functions

Run Time Services
Works with ALL SAP R/3 releases, requires no modifications or changes to R/3 systems and operates as a plug-in Windows Server service.

  • Native Multi-Mode .NET Service
Administered and Monitored from within Windows Server and MMC
  • Performs Auto-discovery of SAP objects
  • Dynamic, fully configurable connection pooling
  • Parallel, multi-threaded Services
  • Incorporates a RFC runtime accelerator
  • Full exception handling and failover services
  • Reflects SAP access control mechanisms for log-on, roles and authorizations enforcement
